Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gaming is against the law. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are apparently needed to pass, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of comforts aside from the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
