Cambodia Gambling Dens

by Braiden on Jun.12, 2018, under Casino

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally small location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a prime location, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of luxuries aside from the casino, which has ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
