Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is not allowed. Eight casinos are situated in a generally tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is real of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga casino is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel compound that highlights a number of luxuries aside from the casino, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight table games.
